Vesuvius Elder:
Artisanal small batch handcrafted, Vesuvius is an Elder Spirit.
Made with Scottish elderberries, lemon peel from Sorrento, basil, thyme, rosemary, sweet almond, long pepper and wormwood, distilled in Edinburgh with 100% neutral grain spirit. Vesuvius uses only premium botanicals that have been carefully selected and sourced.
If Vesuvius conjures up images of the famed volcano, you're on the right track, as the spirit is named after a mythical Centaur, Vesuvius, who fell in love with a mermaid, and after an argument with Zeus was turned into a volcano.
Tasting Notes:
NOSE
Distinctive sweet wild berries on the nose followed by a crisp citrus note and a wave of uplifting herbs
PALATE
Berry sweetness balanced with earthy, subtle bitter notes, with clean citrus giving a incredibly Mediterranean taste
FINISH
The finish is full of Mediterranean flavour and incredibly dry

60ml of Vesuvius poured over ice and topped with a Mediterranean Tonic Water, garnish with a twist of lemon

To the nose there is a light sweetness of wild berries and an uplifting zest of citrus and wild herbs.
On the palate distinctive sweet berry is prominent followed by a rush of citrus and a lift of herbs like walking across an aromatic carpet floor.
The finish is dry but extremely pleasing with herbal notes continuing alongside a dance of subtle spice.
