Amaro Parthenope:

Amaro Parthenope is an Italian herbal liquor.

The taste is full and round, a pleasing balance between bitter and sweet.

The amount of sugar needed to balance the bitterness gives a viscous mouth feel common to Amari.

It’s difficult to extract single flavour compounds in this complex spirit but lavender, rose and juniper definitely pull through.

At 29 percent alcohol by volume it’s smooth and interesting, something a little different.

Tasting Notes:

Nose

Deeply herbal and sweet with subtle florals

Palate

Sweet and sticky with a complex herbal profile, citrus notes and floral notes pull through.

Finish

A viscous mouthfeel with herbal and bitter elements that hold on a long finish

Perfect Serve:

Try a flip on a Manhattan.

60ml of Amaro, 30ml of Rye Whiskey and a dash of Angostura Bitters stirred and served over ice.

Garnished with a orange twist with the oils expressed over the glass and a maraschino cherry.
