Set in an impressive former ballroom in the heart of Hitchin, Hermitage Rd Bar & Restaurant offers exciting food with added theatre from the open kitchen, quirky cocktails and beer from the bar and live music from local talent.
Open 7 days a week with pop up al fresco cocktails on sunny Fridays and Saturdays
The Hermitage also offers private dining and cocktail masterclasses where you can mix, muddle, shake and stir your way through a masterclass with the pro mixologists at Hermitage Rd, making iconic cocktails as well as crafting your own creations in your own private bar in the room

If you are looking for a way to get your weekend off to the best possible start, or else banish the Sunday night blues then The Hermitage offers some great live music on Fridays and Sundays. Hermitage Rd has for decades been a destination for music going right back to their heritage as a ball room. Some of the all-time music greats have graced their stage and they continue to revel in live music and supporting talent including their resident house band, Indi and The Vegas.
DRINKS
The Hermitage has an extensive menu of cocktails, as well as stocking draft and bottled beers and a great selection of wine.
Cocktails are extensive, choose from a list of "Only Herm" serves, such as Orange You Thirsty, a delicious citrussy Martini, showcasing, Seville Marmalade Gin, Orange Liqueur, Mango Puree and Lemon Juice.
There are also cocktail sharing menu's, a list of Martinis, a separate list of shots and of course a menu featuring all of the classics.
The non drinker is also catered for with a menu of virgin cocktails.
FOOD
All their food menus are designed around sustainable British produce, celebrating local suppliers and seasonality.
They believe in eating better............. that's better for the environment: sourcing as much as possible from local and sustainable producers, so they access fresh produce with a smaller carbon footprint.
There is plenty on the menu to cater for both vegetarian and vegan requirements.
Eating menus cater from simple bar snacks to their great value seasonal market lunch and main menus, with plenty to feast upon for those with dietary requirements.
The Hermitage have become locally famous for their ‘Host a Roast’ on a Sunday, all the joy of having a family Sunday Roast at home without any of the hassle, what's not to like about that.
