Morveren Absinthe:

Morveren Absinthe is sold in a striking presentation pack that tells the Cornish legend about the mermaid Morveren of Zennor.

This handcrafted Absinthe has a stunning pale green colour, enhanced by the unique use of Cornish seaweed.

It fills your glass with aromas of aniseed and delicious herbal undertones.

We source our wormwood from Josh at Wild St Ives who grows it himself on the cliffs near Zennor (just above Pendour Cove, the exact location of the Morveren legend).

Despite the 66% Alc/Vol, the finish is very smooth and long, with a fresh zing and precious little burn.

Tasting Notes:

Nose

Hints of citrus, distinctly green with herbs, with a overlaying nose of anise and fennel.

Palate

Bright lemon, fully herbaceous, gorgeous umami undertones from seaweed with that characteristic aniseed shining through.

Finish

Herbal, wonderful anise with a touch of bitterness.

Perfect Serve:

Absinthe Drip

Pour a little absinthe into a glass, place a slotted spoon over the glass with a sugar cube.

Slowly drip cold water over the sugar until it is dissolved.

Aim for a finished ratio of four parts water to one part absinthe.
