Brentingby Rakki No7 Gin
Brentingby Rakki No7 Gin:
The Rakkī No.7 Gin is a collaboration between Bruce and Giovanni Andrea Magliaro, representing the passion that they both share in Japanese culture and ingredients, combined with the passion of distillation and mixology, which together brought to life this unique liquid.
The number 7 is represented throughout the bottle - Utilising 7 Japanese botanicals and 7 time processes used in the production, creating a very significant lucky number 7.
Tasting Notes:
Nose
Oily juniper, aromatic tea, light floral blossom and hints of spice.
Palate
Beautiful, Smooth and oily, the spirit has a rich character as it coats the tongue. There is a fleeting glimpse of Sukura cherry blossom and traditional gin notes before the tea and tannic notes take over. Leafy hints of tea and fresh fruit . A vivid note of citrus from the yuzu and the warmth of spice
Finish
A long finish with the warmth of spice.
Perfect Serve:
Serve in a Yuzu Martini
In a mixing glass with ice add, 50ml of gin, 20ml of dry vermouth and 15ml of yuzu sake liqueur.
Stir until chilled and pour into a chilled glass, garnish with a flower or twist of lemon peel.
The Spirits Hub Review:
A beautiful Gin which includes seven Japanese botanicals, yuzu, sancho pepper, kombo (a type of kelp / seaweed), bamboo, black cardamom, szechuan pepper and sakura sencha wild tea.
On the nose you are met with woody juniper, light citrus and slight floral grassy notes from the tea.
On the palate there is a hit of earthy juniper before the pepper and spice elements envelop the mouth with an attack to the taste buds.
A light tang of citrus and tannins present alongside a floral sweetness.
Pepper continues its dance on a beautiful long finish.
